I created this site for my friends and family so they can track my adventures all over the world without having to remember all the URLs and details they would otherwise forget.
If I'm ON the grid and I have shared my location with you, look me up on Google Maps.
If I'm OFF the grid, you can locate me via my satellite beacon on my Garmin Explore webpage. If my location isn't very recent on Garmin Explore, you can click the Locate button to find me.
Check my online activity log to see my recent activities, including where I have hiked, distance/time/pace, route, elevation profile, and even my heart rate!
I often post my location, status, hike statistics, and photos on my Facebook feed.
When I'm on the grid, you can contact me via one of many channels including
Email dcarr178@gmail.com. I manage my inbox rigorously and rarely miss messages. Email is especially effective if there is something you want me to do or follow up on because messages don't disappear into the void until I tell them to, unlike many other messaging services.
Whatsapp +1 (801) 231-4946
SMS to +1 (801) 231-4946 - Sometimes text messages come through when I have poor cell coverage and normal data won't work at all. However, when I'm traveling internationally sometimes text messages never seem to arrive and other data-based messaging services work better.
If you have Garmin inReach and want to message me directly, my address is dcarr178@inreach.garmin.com.
If your message is non-urgent and I'm off-grid, I'll receive your message the next time I get to a town or a good mobile phone connection. However, if I'm off-grid and you have an EXTREMELY URGENT message to send me or a question to ask me, you can send it to me via satellite by visiting my Garmin Explore webpage and clicking the MESSAGE link. It's a little more costly for me to receive messages via satellite, but well worth it if there is an urgent situation that needs my immediate attention.
